<description>&quot;Sunlight on Chrome&quot;

 - By Andy Hertel, December, Every Year

Just a few thoughts from within the cold dark confines of &quot;Winter Storage:&quot;
A motorcycles mind...

It’s a strange feeling. It is a feeling which is both eerie and exciting. The time of the year indicated by the calendar pinned slightly askew just above the tool box to my right, tells me that it is the start of the annual hibernation season - yet the unmistakable brilliant rays of sunshine stream forcibly and unyieldingly through the cracks around the perimeter of my stall.

By this time of the year, I’ve usually had a fresh change of my fluids, been tendered to the wall with the gentle pierce of two alligator clips (normally one black and the other with a red rubber jacket) snugly fastened to my side. By this time, I am usually tucked safely away and comfortably covered to protect me from debris, dust and to render my service officially complete for the season. But mysteriously, not today...

<description> Sunday Afternoon Ride to Stoney Creek Dairy

What a gorgeous fall day it turned out to be.
Freddy appeared at Timmy's the same time Lynn and I were backing our bikes into a parking space. Ordered a cup of java and while we were sipping our coffee Mark T rolled up on his BMW. A couple of other unknown riders -, Kal and John - pulled into Timmy's on a Harley and a Suzuki. Appears Kal has taken John, a new motorcycle graduate from Humber College, under his wing and was showing him the ropes, they were on their way to Carlisle.

Eventually Dave H, Andy and Christine pulled into the parking lot....

<title>What a Gorgeous Fall Day Ride to the Niagara Region</title>
<link>http://www.uppercanadacruisers.com/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=77</link>
<description>WOW!What a FANTASTIC day for a motorcycle ride today!

 After a hearty breakfast, Lynn (my wife) and I saddled up and around 10:30am and headed towards the picturesque Niagara region.

As we casually cruised along Lakeshore Road, through downtown Oakville, we glanced at the foggy, ripple free Lake Ontario from the Sixteen Mile river bridge…the lake water was calm and smooth as glass.

In Burlington, we pulled over and I snapped a picture of Lynn with the misty Burlington Skyway Bridge in the background.

<title>Easy as Learning to Ride a Motorbike</title>
<link>http://www.uppercanadacruisers.com/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=75</link>
<description>From the Wheels section of the Toronto Star

by Lorraine Sommerfeld

Oct 02, 2008

The first time I walked into the Wheels section at the Star, the first question I was asked was whether I had my motorcycle licence.

Well, &quot;No&quot;, I responded.

How could that possibly be a condition of writing about cars?

As I soon learned from five sets of eyeballs glowering at me from under heavy brows, it was indeed a consideration in this bike-crazy office.

<description>Watched the motorcops do their timed partner ride, today, at Humber College in lot 4. They attach a tether between 2 bikes and quickly ride a slalom course. If the tether breaks or a pylon is knocked over, they are disqualified. Very cool exercise!

There definitely was a lot of testosterone in the air.

Final competition is tomorrow...

<description>&quot;Hi There!&quot;
Lynn and I just got back from beautiful West Virginia...

We left 'GPS Fred' and party Monday morning, in Somerset Pa, for their trek back home while Lynn and I headed south into West Virginia via Rte 219

In WV Lynn noticed a sign which read CAUTION: This road not recommended for trucks...&quot;Hey!&quot;, she cracked over the CB radio,&quot;Must be a motorcycle road with wicked tight twists and turns.&quot;

We quickly hit the binders and turned onto Rte 72. Initially the road was fine, but then it turned into a frost heaved choppy ride with vicious uphill/downhill narrow switchbacks...barely got out of 2nd gear for 17 miles...
